Aliens Love New York City: Manhattan UFO Sightings Are Skyrocketing

New Yorkers pride themselves on being a diverse melting pot, but a startlingly high number of UFO sightings in NYC reveals the city might be hiding some extraterrestrials, too.
According to data from the Washington-based National UFO Reporting Center, or NUFORC, New York City has reported 85 UFO sightings over the last two years. Of all the city's boroughs, Manhattan reported the most—27 sightings since 2016, running the gamut from brief, anonymous submissions to detailed accounts.
"Do I believe in UFOs? I absolutely believe...I believe what the data says," NUFORC Director Peter Davenport told the New York Post. "Read the cases and you come to the realization that these objects we've been calling UFOs for 70 years are being seen across the country and around the world on a daily basis."
Manhattan sightings include last September's report of a mysterious light that hovered above the Hudson River, one mile north of the George Washington Bridge, for 15 minutes before suddenly dropping altitude and flying west toward New Jersey.
Last July, a man working out in his gym was staring outside when he says a cigar-shaped UFO over a hundred feet long that rotated like a drill, moving off axis eastward in a line. As it rotated, he saw four lights on one side. Minutes later he saw four smaller, spherical crafts trailing behind it.
Earlier that same month, two sisters were stuck in traffic when they saw a very slow moving object drifting over Manhattan. They thought it might be a flock of birds or balloons, but upon closer inspection noticed it was much bigger. Then the UFO changed its shape.
The timing for this flurry of urban activity is curious, particularly in light of last month's revelation that the Pentagon was funding a secret UFO program of its own. Luis Elizondo, the former director of the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program who resigned in October after becoming frustrated with the secrecy surrounding his program, insists that the proof of extraterrestrial life is "beyond reasonable doubt."
He stated in his resignation letter that, "There remains a vital need to ascertain capability and intent of these phenomena for the benefit of the armed forces and the nation."
Meanwhile, there are several other UFO sightings that even trained pilots remain unable to simply explain away. These particularly notable sightings have all of us, professional and amateur enthusiasts alike, keeping our wide eyes ever focused on the skies.
