NASA to Set Up Independent Study on Unidentified Aerial Phenomena

Image
NASA is commissioning a study team to start early in the fall to examine unidentified aerial phenomena (UAPs) – that is, observations of events in the sky that cannot be identified as aircraft or known natural phenomena – from a scientific perspective.  The study will focus on identifying available data, how best to collect future data, and how NASA can use that data to move the scientific understanding of UAPs forward. The limited number of observations of UAPs currently makes it difficult to draw scientific conclusions about the nature of such events. Unidentified phenomena in the atmosphere are of interest for both national security and air safety.  Establishing which events are natural provides a key first step to identifying or mitigating such phenomena, which aligns with one of NASA’s goals to ensure the safety of aircraft. There is no evidence UAPs are extra-terrestrial in origin. “NASA believes that the tools of scientific discovery are powerful and apply here also,” s...

Aliens Love New York City: Manhattan UFO Sightings Are Skyrocketing

Image
BY: www.outerplaces.com New Yorkers pride themselves on being a diverse melting pot, but a startlingly high number of UFO sightings in NYC reveals the city might be hiding some extraterrestrials, too. According to data from the Washington-based National UFO Reporting Center, or NUFORC, New York City has reported 85 UFO sightings over the last two years. Of all the city's boroughs, Manhattan reported the most—27 sightings since 2016, running the gamut from brief, anonymous submissions to detailed accounts. "Do I believe in UFOs? I absolutely believe...I believe what the data says," NUFORC Director Peter Davenport told the New York Post. "Read the cases and you come to the realization that these objects we've been calling UFOs for 70 years are being seen across the country and around the world on a daily basis."  Manhattan sightings include last September's report of a mysterious light that hovered above the Hudson River, one mile north of the ...

This University Offers A Course To Prepare Humans For Massive Contact With Aliens

Image
BY: MALAYSIAN DIGEST Extraterrestrial life now goes beyond the Twilight Zone and The X-files TV series and Hollywood movies – because aliens could possibly invade planet Earth one day – if they aren’t already intruding it, one university has decided to prepare students with a course equipped with alien studies. Akdeniz University in Antalya, Turkey, is offering a course for called “Ufology and Exopolitics” which focuses on unidentified flying objects (UFO) and life forms on other planets, aside the alleged secret connection between aliens and the US government. So Erhan Kolbashi, who is the deputy chairman of Istanbul-based Sirius UFO Space Sciences Research Center and the tutor for the course will prepare his students for a proper welcome to visitors from space. Among topics he revealed that will be discussed in the course are 'UFOs and science,' ancient aliens, abductions, and even the crop circle phenomenon. Kolbashi believes in the next 10 to 15 years humanity...

UFO Legacy: What Impact Will Revelation of Secret Government Program Have?

Image
By Leonard David, Space.com's  Space Insider Columnist Believers in aliens visiting Earth's friendly skies via Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs) couldn't ask for more: A secretive government group backed by federal "black money," a talkative former U.S. military intelligence official, fighter-jet video of odd objects doing out-of-this-world maneuvers and a space mogul purportedly housing leftovers of unidentified aerial craft. It all has the feel of sliding open a top drawer in a new "X-Files" TV episode.  Yes, "the truth is out there," a maxim made all the stranger by reports last month by both The New York Times and Politico Magazine of the secretive Advanced Aviation Threat Identification Program, or AATIP for short.  Along with the reporting, a video was released by the Department of Defense showing a 2004 encounter near San Diego involving two Navy F/A-18F fighter jets and an unknown object. Behind the scenes AATIP was or...

Former Pentagon UFO official: 'We may not be alone'

Image
By Eli Watkins and Brian Todd, CNN Updated 1200 GMT (2000 HKT) December 19, 2017 (CNN) A former Pentagon official who led a recently revealed government program to research potential UFOs said Monday evening that he believes there is evidence of alien life reaching Earth. "My personal belief is that there is very compelling evidence that we may not be alone," Luis Elizondo said in an interview on CNN's "Erin Burnett OutFront." Elizondo told The New York Times he resigned from the Department of Defense in October in protest over what he called excessive secrecy surrounding the program and internal opposition to it after funding for the effort ended in 2012. Elizondo said Monday that he could not speak on behalf of the government, but he strongly implied there was evidence that stopped him from ruling out the possibility that alien aircraft visited Earth. "These aircraft -- we'll call them aircraft -- are displaying characteristics that ar...

SATELLITE RE-ENTRY: The ROSAT X-ray Observatory

Image
SATELLITE RE-ENTRY: The ROSAT X-ray observatory, launched in 1990 by NASA and managed for years by the German Aerospace Center (DLR), will return to Earth within the next two weeks.  Current best estimates place the re-entry between Oct. 22nd and 24th over an unknown part of Earth.  Although ROSAT is smaller and less massive than UARS , which grabbed headlines when it re-entered on Sept. 24th, more of ROSAT could reach the planet's surface. This is because the observatory is made of heat-tolerant materials. According to a DLR study, as many as 30 individual pieces could survive the fires of re-entry. The largest single fragment would likely be the telescope's mirror, which is very heat resistant and may weigh as much as 1.7 tons. ROSAT is coming, but it's not here yet. On Oct. 13th, Marco Langbroek photographed the observatory still in orbit over Leiden, the Netherlands: Photo details: 5 second exposure, Canon EOS 450D, ISO 400 "I observed...

On Aug. 9, the golf cart-sized rover relayed its arrival at a location named Spirit Point on the crater’s rim. Opportunity drove approximately 13 miles (21 kilometers) after climbing out of the Victoria crater. “NASA is continuing to write remarkable chap...

UFO files: RAF tornado crew spotted UFO over North Sea

Image
Without warning the UFO - as big as a C130 Hercules plane - appeared and they had 'never seen anything like it' Photo: GETTY 6:00AM GMT 03 Mar 2011 Comment The crew were returning from a ''low level'' mission in the UK to RAF Laarbruch in Germany when they were flying through Dutch airspace over the North Sea. Without warning the UFO - as big as a C130 Hercules plane - appeared and they had ''never seen anything like it''. In written answers about the incident the pilot said: ''I did not lock the UFO on radar. My navigator and I were so surprised we did not think to do so. ''Indeed, for the majority of the sighting, the UFO was out to one side of my aircraft which would have required me to manoeuvre the aircraft to place within the radar field of view. ''Of more interest, despite repeated radio calls to Dutch Military Radar, the controller insisted that he could not see the UFO. RELATED ARTICLES UFO files: Family caught 3...

Discovery's Final Flight Carries Special Meaning for Shuttle Astronauts

Image
HOUSTON – Amid the flurry of settling in to life onboard the International Space Station, astronauts on the space shuttle Discovery's mission have taken time to contemplate the significance of this shuttle's historic final flight. Discovery arrived at the space station yesterday (Feb. 26) for one last visit before the shuttle is retired from service at the end of this mission. The six astronauts who are flying the orbiter on its final flight are veteran spaceflyers, including several astronauts who have completed long duration stays at the massive orbiting laboratory. So, while Discovery's trip to space station is the orbiter's swan song, it is also something of a homecoming for some of the shuttle's astronauts. "I spent six and a half months here in 2009, and I loved it up here – I didn't want to leave," mission specialist Michael Barratt told reporters today in a press briefing from the station. "For me, the mission has a lot of meaning. It...
